Our Terms explained:

Our quilting machine is an APQS Ultimate II.  It is not  a stitch regulated, nor computerized.

We free motion quilt.

This means that the quilting patterns are "Drawn" onto the quilt top. It has the look like hand quilting but with more even stitching.

Meandering or Stippling

This is a free motion pattern that moves and flows like water. It is often used on applique, or embroidered quilts. It is also used on quilts that will get a lot of use.

All over pattern

This is a pattern that runs across the quilt from side to side.

Custom Design Patterns

These are patterns we create to specifficly for uses on your quilt.

We ask that you bring us your top, batting and backing in seperate pieces. We do not need your quilt hand  or pin basted. If we have to remove pins or basting we have to charge for it. Please follow the guides below.

Quilt Top

It should be pressed, squared up, and threads trimmed.

Please mark the "top" of your quilt top.

Batting

We prefer 100 % cotton, or a cotton blend.

Batting should be at least 6" to 8" wider than the quilt top. It should also be 6" to 8" Longer than the quilt top.

Some customers ask us to supply batting. If you need us to do that for you we can.

We prefer that black quilts have black batting. We can supply that as well.

Backing

It should be pressed. It should also be squared up.

Salvages should be removed. If the backing has the salvages, they should be cut with pinking sheers.

Backing should be at least 6" to 8" Wider than the quilt top. It should also be 6" to 8" Longer than the quilt top.

If your quilt backing has a directional pattern, or has multiply pieces or blocks, please treat it like the top.

Binding fabric, or pre-made binding.

If you are having us make or attach the binding, there should be enough to cover all four sides of the quilt, with a little extra.

Additional Information:

For quilts that do not have borders, make sure all seams are locked. If they are opening a little, add a line of stitching close to the outside edge to keep seams from opening. This will help elimate distortion when quilting.

When we receive antique quilts, we use a light weight stabilizer fused to the back of the top to protect the it when quiting. We will also hand sew any week or open seams. These steps are charge accordingly.

Rush orders will recieve an additional 20% charge. This applies to any quilt in less than 1 month from time we receive it. Turnover is based on time of year, and present work load. We can give you an approximate time when we receive your quilt.

Applique' and Embroidered quilts will be stippled unless otherwise directed. If you request patterns on these type of quilts they are charged at the custom quilting price.

T-Shirt quilts, photo quilts, or clothing quilts will be stippled. We do not quilt through ruberized designs, or embroidered emblems on these types of quilts.

For more information please feel free to call us and we can explain further.
